Building your Intuitive Powers
Most
people wish they had more intuitive information
available within themselves. Intuition is something we
all have some degree of access to innately, though our
degree of natural talent- our "gift"- does vary.
Whatever natural ability we have can be developed or
left undeveloped, and like any skill, we'll never know
how much natural talent we have until we begin to train
ourselves. Learning how to listen to your intuition, how
to hone it, and how to recognize its varying levels of
quality can give you much additional knowledge of the
world around you, though you must be aware going in that
you will likely become "thinner-skinned."
The key to
much intuition is simply OBSERVATION. You can easily
practice this by noticing someone around you. Notice
what they are wearing -not to judge it- but as a
statement of who they perceive themselves to be and how
they are feeling. Notice their facial expression and if
it seems natural or contrived. Notice the look in their
eyes. Do they seem relaxed or tense? What are they
saying? Notice both the words and additional meaning
added by tonality and body language. Notice any mixed
messages. What do they seem to want to announce about
themselves? What does their "energy" feel like?
With
practice, you should be able to tell many things about a
person in a very short time without giving it much
thought- "intuitively." Awareness of these kinds of
energies is much more relevant and important when making
an assessment of someone than how they look, how they
dress, or the auspices under which they operate.
In many ways, intuition is learning to tune in to subtle
energies which are right there for the seeing, hearing,
etc. To refine our ability to detect the subtle, we
often need to limit or cut out our exposure to many
kinds of "gross" energies which can be very deadening.
In the entertainment field watch out for TV, movies,
books and video games depicting cruelty, violence,
anyone being demeaned, or even the depiction of highly
dysfunctional relationships. Watching TV news can have
the same deadening effect, as can much of reality TV. A
super-high volume of almost anything deafens subtle
perceptions.
The
internet is another place to take care. It is an amazing
tool for research and an amazing marketplace, but is
also full of negative energies of all kinds. (Think of
web-surfing as a journey through the wild west by
covered wagon- there is lots of potential opportunity,
but also the possibility of encountering the
emotionally, intellectually, monetarily or spiritually
lawless.) Being around highly negative or dysfunctional
people or being in large crowds can be energetically
overwhelming. Be alert to anything that makes you feel
bad.
The more
attuned to subtle energies and intuitive we become, the
more sensitized we become. It becomes much more
important to avoid things that make us feel bad. In
time, with our intuition highly developed, this becomes
essential to our well-being. We can even become attuned
to the way we feel when we eat specific foods, or feel
around particular places, people, environments, or
weather patterns, or even how we feel when wearing
certain fabrics or colors.
A crucial
consideration when building intuition is to realize that
not all intuitions are created equal. Depending on both
personal and Universal transits, the quality of our
intuition can vary widely. (I find this is absolutely
true in my personal life, less so when I am officially
"in service" to others- the Angelic Guidance when in
service seems to override most of these variations.)
Though a number of transits can affect the quality of
our intuition, the most important transits to be aware
of are the transits of Jupiter, Saturn, and the
Saturn/Jupiter midpoint.
Jupiter
transits bring us high-quality intuitions and advice. If
you are comfortable with the idea of intuitively
becoming aware of external input, then Jupiter transits
bring us advice directly from our Higher Angels. If the
idea of external input is uncomfortable, then you could
say that the intuitions we receive during Jupiter cycles
are from our Higher Self or the best part of ourselves.
Transits
by Saturn or by the Saturn/Jupiter midpoint are just the
opposite. The advice and intuitions we receive during
transits by Saturn or Sat/Jup are misleading, just plain
wrong, or worse. We can see this advice as coming from
negative entities or from the lowest and most sabotaging
side of ourselves- but either way, Saturn intuitions can
be highly destructive. Saturn/Jupiter "voices" can seem
like they are practically driving us crazy!
Keeping
track of our transits is a great way to get a
qualitative fix on whether or not our intuitions are
correct and should be acted upon. Even without knowing
all of our transits, though, we can learn to discern the
likely source of our intuitions. One of the key
differences is the difference in "tone." Angelic Jupiter
voices whisper gently. Saturn voices nag and nag. Sat/Jup
voices can be unbelievably clamorous. (I use the word
"voices" here rather more metaphorically than
literally.)
Another
way to discern the quality of our intuitions is to look
at the content of the intuitions. Jupiter advice
promotes positive "higher" thoughts, feelings and
actions. The themes of selfless love, compassion,
understanding, equality, truth-serving and so on reign
in advice from the Angels. Angelic advice is drawn from
and promotes higher evolutionary patterns.
Saturn
intuitions are much more negative, much "lower," and
prompt thoughts, feelings and actions of such things as
divisiveness, conflict, pain, fear, hate, anger, selfish
"love," superiority/inferiority, and the service of
falsity. Saturn advice is drawn from and promotes lower
evolutionary patterns.
Building
your intuition can be incredibly useful and deeply
satisfying. The more we learn to tune in to the wisdom
of the Angels, the more inner peace we feel and the more
we are able to make the right choices in our lives.
Learning to recognize and decisively counter the Saturn
advice is of course also necessary to successfully use
our intuition to guide our lives down the right paths.
Just like
learning any complicated skill- to play the piano for
example- building intuitive power takes lots of
practice. We can't just sit down on the bench and play
Mozart the very first time. Practice your observation of
minute details by watching, listening and using all of
your senses. Avoid deadening negative energies.
Carefully discern the origins of your intuitions and
ONLY listen to the Angels. With time, more and more
information will flow to you. I encourage you to build
your connection with your Highest Angels for yourself,
for your loved ones, and for the greatest good of all.
